Lori Schinelli is a full time glass artist living in Dunwoody, Georgia.
After studying painting and drawing she spent several years working in clay and figurative sculpture.
Although she enjoyed all of those mediums, her true passion was revealed when she began working with glass in 2003.
She has traveled to New York, Texas, North Carolina and Oregon to explore advanced glass techniques with various well-known artists.
In July of 2005, one of her large bowls was commissioned by the Congregational United Church of Christ and was positioned center stage during their four day international General Synod at the Georgia World Congress Center, in Atlanta.
She has work in private collections in New York, Rhode Island, Georgia, and Florida and has completed commissions for churches in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Texas.
January of 2009 saw the completion of her new glass studio.
She teaches beginning and intermediate students but her studio was designed with a larger vision.
In an effort to raise the awareness and the quality of the glass arts in Atlanta, her studio has become a venue for advanced workshops. She has invited world renowned glass artists to Atlanta to teach in her studio, thereby enabling local glass artists to have the opportunity to learn from world class instructors.
